                                                     The Last Duel Review

Watching new release movies is a good way to help everyone relieve stress and increase awareness and social skills. One of the most interesting and attractive movies just released was The Last Duel which is an international film festival.  

The Last Due 2021 which is an Epic Historical Drama by Ridley Scott and took place in France. The Last Duel is not only interesting about the story, but it also has a lot of famous artists such as Matt Damon, Jodie Comer, Adam Driver, and Ben Affleck, etc. The movie took place in France in the 1380s. The movie story was about a brave and passionate knight Carrouges (Matt Damon) who challenged his friend Le Gris (Adam Driver) to fight a judicial duel because Le Gris raped Carrouges’s wife Marguerite (Jodie Comer).  

The movie The Last Duel was divided into three chapters making the movie more interesting and clearly. The movie tells a story how and why led to the last duel between the main male character and his best friend. The first chapter showed a little information of the last duel and previewed the beginning of the story and how Carrouges met his beautiful, gentle and wealthy wife Marguerite. Also, the first chapter clearly introduced the movie characters and their personality. The second chapter gave us more details than the first chapter about what is happening in the movie. The reason why led to the last duel between two main male characters. A little bit of scenes of how Le Gris fell in love and wanted to have her then he decided to rape her. In this chapter also how, Le Gris gained more power by making the count D'Alencon (Ben Affleck) happy, they also have the same evil and erotic characteristics. The last scene of this chapter showed little information how Carrouges accused and made the combat with Le Gris. The final chapter continued the second chapter. In this chapter, the movie showed how Le Gris got into Carrouges’s house and raped his wife Marguerite with more emotion and feelings. The judge of course and the king accepted the last duel between Carrouges and Le Gris. Full scene how the last duel was happening and the winner of this duel. The movie showed Marguerite life with Carrouges’s son with.  

The last duel is so interesting and attractive not only because the fight was so real and emotional between Carrouges and Le Gris for Marguerite. The movie made audiences feel real and emotional because of special effects, sound and music and scenes. But also, the movie showed us what bad endings came to bad guys so that we can have a lesson and be better.  The movie is based on the 2004 book The Last Duel by Eric Jager. Le Gris was a bad, evil and erotic character. He not only betrayed his friend by gaining power by dirty ways, he also raped Carrouges’s wife. In this movie, it showed a culture which portrayed that if people did bad things, they would be punished at the end.  

The movie is not only so good and attractive, but it also clearly showed the story by dividing it into three chapters. You will regret it if you do not watch this movie at least one time in your movie lists. The movie was not only based on a historical story, but also it gave everyone a lesson to be a good person. The movie is suitable for adults. I do not think it is suitable for kids because it has blood and violence scenes which are not good for kids to watch.
